Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel is a timeless and authentic resort hotel located in the heart of Cape Town. Two heated swimming pools, rolling lawns and Rose gardens lend themselves to romance, and the abundant space is family-friendly. Several accommodation wings house 198 individually styled rooms and suites. The contemporary Planet Bar and Restaurant and the Oasis Bistro offers guests a true South African gastronomic experience. Afternoon Tea served in the hotel lounge is a signature experience. Librisa Spa, our destination day spa, offers guests a bouquet of holistic treatments.

We loved this place so much that we want to come back to Cape Town just to stay at this place. The staff were genuinely lovely and hospitable. There were seven of us with two kids and they knew our names, our coffee preferences, and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. The grounds are gorgeous and well maintained. The rooms were updated with modern amenities and very clean. The food was amazing. We travel all over the world in 5 star hotels and it was by far the best food we've had for breakfast and dinner. It's hard to do a breakfast buffet well, but they did. We looked forward to breakfast every day. It was our first visit to Cape Town and the staff here made us love Cape Town even more. We will be back and tell all our friends to stay at the Mount Nelson.

I absolutely love this hotel, the best Cape Town has to offer. I come to stay at least once a year and its an iconic and memorable experience every time. The building itself, the beautiful gardens and the interiors never fail to inspire and bring joy. It's never long enough. The staff are so welcoming, the drinks and food are fantastic. I can't wait to come back!

We recently had Afternoon Tea at The Mount Nelson. It was a fabulous experience which we all thoroughly enjoyed. The setting in the Conservatory overlooking the garden was lovely. Craig guided us through the whole experience. He was extremely knowledgeable about the many and varied types of tea on the menu and happy to answer our questions. We shared tea drinking experiences from around the world! The food was delicious, a lovely mix of sandwiches and savouries, scones with jam and cream and a selection of delicious cakes and sweet surprises. It was a truly unforgettable afternoon which I would recommend to anyone lucky enough to visit Cape Town.

We had an absolutely amazing experience here with their high tea. There was a vast spread of pastries, savoury bites as well as scones. The staff are super friendly and attentive to all your needs. We especially enjoyed the large tea selection and the recommendations given to us by our waiter turned out to be amazing. It’s always a treat going to the Mount Nelson - they truly put their guests at the centre of everything. Will be frequenting this place for as long as I can 😊

We had THE most fantastic time staying here. Every single member of staff was so helpful and professional, giving a very personal touch to all the interactions we had with them. The evening meals were delicious, we tried many of the different dishes between us, and the service was great every night. The rooms were well serviced each day and the bar was excellent to visit in the evening too. Concierge could not have been more helpful and arranged a visit to the penguins at Boulder Beach and a walking tour of Cape Town for us. They were very welcoming whenever we returned (and a great shout out to the doormen too). Look out for Nelly, the hotel cat - friendly when he wants to be. We hope to be able to return sometime soon!! Thank you everyone for an excellent stay.

Old French style meets Dutch is the feeling I got... Lovely service and treats.. Went for a high tea, only fault I can make is that I thought there was a live pianist however I think it was a CD and when it stopped... It didn't go back on🙈 aah well.. Still made for a lovely treat!

I've been going for Afternoon Tea's here, for a few of my important anniversary events, for the last 3 years. I've done afternoon Tea's at a couple of other places but my "Criteria for a good experience" has always been modeled on my experience at Mount Nelson. This can be summarized down to 3 things: Amazing Tea's - I've been to multiple Morning and Afternoon Tea's, the menu is always expansive covering a large spectrum of cultures and a variety of flavours for every mood. Great Service - In all my years going here I have always been impressed with their consistent service. The waiters and waitress have always had a good grasp of knowledge on all of the Tea's on the menu and can give you a decent run down of the Tea. Snack! - The Tea's are usually accompanied by finger snacks that are proportioned correctly and delicious. The one catch in all this is of course the price - albeit a bit pricey, for the service, the options, and the experience you get, this is the best place for Afternoon Tea's that I have found so far. I will be trying a few Evening Tea's this year and it's honestly an exciting event to look forward to on my calendar. Thank you Mount Nelson for Consistently delivering! I look forward to future Tea's.

Incredibly friendly staff! Wow almost too friendly, when they thank me for taking a dish from the table... I’m the one thanking u. Beautiful grounds and pool and in a nice part of town. The only Down side is that it has some strange colonial decor. Food is great. They have some plant based vegan options which is cool. Which I hung out at the bar more. Also the hotel cat is really friendly which offsets any wrong doings of the hotels decor choice. Let him come to you first and then he will b friend forever. Five stars!

We booked a night at the Mount Nelson for our wedding anniversary. I cannot express enough how incredible the staff were and how much we enjoyed our stay. We were upgraded and treated like royalty. Without a doubt one of the best hotels in South Africa. Our room was fabulous and the breakfast was delicious with endless options.

A truly luxurious experience from start to finish. I had the Afternoon Tea (plant based), and it was well worth the price. The gardens are immaculate, and it was lovely to sit outside under the trees. The staff are polished, and attentive.
