We stayed 7 days at this location, and will definitely be back. The hotel accommodations are clean, the beach is amazing, the food was great, but the best part was the staff. Everyone knows you by name! Great place to go with your family. Thank you, Mabel, Hugo, Chocolate, Isaac, Zamara, and all staff members. You made us feel like we have known you for many years!

The hotel was very good. The facilities were well maintained, food was nice (for Cuban standards), service was also good. We enjoyed the evening shows. The beach was great, water turquoise blue, lots of sun lounges at the beach.
Now the things that can be improved - it is the entertainment! There was nothing for kids aged 8-12. The kids disco was for aimed for kids aged below 6 and was very repetitive. At the end my 5 year old was bored dancing at the same songs every night. There weren't any games for them or anything else to make it more diverse. The kids club available during the day for free was also too boring for both of my kids.
The entertainment for adults consisted of water aerobics, dance, volleyball, table tennis and some lazy games like bingo. I uploaded a picture of the program but it is not guaranteed as if there aren't people willing to participate it is not happening (for example the dance lessons, which I was very keep on doing). There is a lack of energy in the entertainment team. I can't help myself comparing the entertainment to the one I have experienced in Mexico and Dominical Republic and the one in Iberostar Selection Varadero is nothing. Maybe it is better than other Cuban hotels but in my eyes a lot could be improved. I hope they read this comment and provide some training as the hotel is otherwise very good.

I've been to this hotel twice, 2012 and 2022. Both times I had an excellent stay. the staff, the food and entertainment at night are amazing perfect for a family to spend holidays. Rooms very clean, well maintained. Drinks and food are excellent. Beach/Water was the best you could get. The hotel staff were absolutely lovely well educated.

We absolutely loved this place, great weather (March) amazing beach. And the people are so friendly and polite. DENNIS! was an entertainer that did not disappoint! we became friends. He Offered fun with games, gave great info about the culture and workings of the country! My advice to Antoine visiting, bring salt and pepper and a hot sauce. Only fault I would say is the food is a bit bland at the buffet. Take an entertainer for a meal with you. Bring extra toys, toiletries even clothes to leave behind to the locals who don’t have great access to these things.
Exchange money for tipping with the life guards. Front desk/banks give terrible rates. 20-1$ guards 50-1$.

Quartos maravilhosos, limpos, com as pessoas de limpeza, sempre atenciosas. Todo o staff do Hotel sempre sorridente! Restaurantes maravilhosos. Estuvimos por un fin de semana. Todo fue magnífico..la limpieza de habitaciones. La comida fue buena pero muy poca.el midle nigth no funciona para un hotel 5 estrella.pero igual la pasamos super bien. Lo mejor de todo la parte del entretenimiento. Los chicos de la animación excelente muy amables En especial la animadora Nury que con sus bailes y carisma hizieron nuestra estancia inolvidable. Se los recomiendo mucho. Es el mejor hotel de Varadero...por eso regresaremos y pronto.

We were a party of 5 people vacationing at Iberostar Varadero between August 19 to 26, 2021. The flight from Toronto was easy, and after 3 hours and 20 minutes, we landed in Varadero. All in 30 minutes we passed the custom, security, and took the COVID-19 test. The bus ride from the airport to the resort was another 30 minutes.Our vacation began when we arrived at the resort. I will describe the ocean shortly but will start with the resort. It is a five-star establishment that deserves all the credit. There is nothing we could have asked more from the resort. We have been to Cuba before, this resort is by far the best we have ever seen. The layout is very convenient, a short walk to everything. Vilas are colorful, the pool is a marvel, especially at night, and the lobby is very inviting. The amenities were excellent, the grounds spotless, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the activities were super fun all throughout the day. The resort was not at capacity, there were no lineups or waiting for anything and we were always pampered with fantastic service.This review would not be complete without describing the people working at the resort. We had the pleasure of meeting the General Manager, Mr. Luis Albert Heras -true gentlemen who knows how to run a complex enterprise with over 300 employees. Maintaining this level of quality given the pandemic and embargo is absolutely remarkable.The cantina employeesMedeline and Carlos made all our meals a pleasure and Yadira in the lobby makes the best cappuccino in the world. The night shows were excellent. Eduard has a fantastic voice. The lady singer (sorry I did not catch her name) is super talented. The dancing team works tirelessly for the few tourist and Laura has to be seen to be truly appreciated.Now the animation team. If you ever visit Iberostar Varadero, make sure you get to say hi to Albert Einstein (no kidding), Alex, Victor, Nury, and JD. All these guys (and one lady) are highly educated and intelligent professionals. They made our stay at the resort unforgettable. So much enthusiasm, love of life, and true desire to make us feel welcome. Our teenage boys were spending all day long playing ping pong (Alex beat us all), archery (Victor hits bull's eye every "first" time), pool table,salsa dancing (yes, teenage boys worked out the courage to dance, even on the stage) and so much more. Albert is a born entertainer. With a degree in international communications, I was blown away by his ability to connect with the crowed during the night show, or maintain a conversation over a coffee in the lobby. Alex is a breath of fresh air all the time!The Varadero beach is rated as one of the best in the word. Well, we couldn't agree more! The white sand, the color of the ocean, safety of the water deepness made us stay hours in the warm waves of Atlantic ocean. If you ever stay at Iberostar Varadero, you must ask Yani to take you one mile from the shore on catamaran. The coral reef is only a short swim from the beach, and seeing tens of colorful fish right in front of your eyes is unforgettable.Activities outside of the resort are endless. Some of the things we have done included 50's Cadillac drive through Varadero, Mason Dupont and many other interesting locations. The boat fishing resulted in my boys catching many barracudas, all bigger than anything we cough in Ontario. Capitan Oscar and skipper Joan will always be remembered by our family and we look forward to see them again. Snorkeling and Jet Skiing on Cardinal Canal completed our trip. Many other activities were available, but we did not have the time to do them all.In conclusion, it was an unforgettable experience and the entire family can't wait to book the next trip to Iberostar Varadero. Everyone warns about food at resorts in Cuba, we did not get sick at all eating the food at this resort. The food was GREAT. Service was great, everything was wonderful and staff were so hospitable. This is the only place I would recommend for a place to stay in cuba. We went here on our honeymoon this past Christmas, best decision.

My trip to Cuba consisted of 10 adults and 2 small children. We stayed at the Iberostar Selection Varadero and I never wanted to leave. The staff were more than just friendly, they made you feel like family. The entertainment staff were my favourite, as they really knew how to help everyone enjoy there stay whether they were on the beach, around the pool, doing the activities throughout the day, the nightly shows or in the disco-teca at night. They all really made the experience so much more than I could of ever had expected. Dennis was the one who really stood out made our trip so amazing. I love playing volleyball with him and other guests, pellet gun shooting game, learning dance moves and many other activities. He was our friend throughout the whole trip and I feel I can consider him family now. When I go back to Cuba, I know where I will be staying again and can’t wait to see all my friends there again. 😊
