This was hands down the worst vacation we have done in our lifetime, yet the most expensive.We have never had such a horrible experience with personnel. Our itinerary was not correct for the get go.Then we needed up paying an extra 2,000 once we arrived to get everything we wanted.We were offered any compensation or help really in fixing this.Rather we were blamed for the mistakes because it was all done via phone calls instead rd documented proof by email.Half of the things we were signed up for weren’t explained properly whatsoever.This place is a joke and cares about nothing, but collecting more and more money.The worst part is we were going to be planning two trips a year here going forward, but after how we were treated we will being taking our business elsewhere to someone who values their clients.This is definitely not that place. We paid out of pocket 500 for the size we needed.We then arrive at lodge and get itinerary and it’s only half of what we wanted and discussed.So again paying more out of pocket 1000 to be exact to rectify one of the trips.Then another 250 to fix a halibut trip that should have been there.At this point we are very frustrated and told it is our fault.I saw another user posted about it seemed to be only about collecting the money and I couldn’t agree more.What a rip off.Literally hands down the worst the customer service I’ve experienced in my life.We did speak to a wonderful manager who was trying to help us, but he is no longer there from my understanding.Sad apparently the owner cares more about money then making this the the clients dreams come true.We would have came for many years to come and own a business ourselves and brought employees, but not a chance now.This place is a money hungry joke!!!Don’t waste your time Nosso sonho de férias se transformou em pesadelo muito rapidamente. Great place to stay.Remote and quiet. Everything was organized for us which made it easy other than getting up super early to meet the guides.We would definitely stay there again and Linda was amazing!!! Ótimo lugar para ficar. Remoto e silencioso. Tudo foi organizado para nós o que facilitou além de acordar super cedo para conhecer os guias. Nós com certeza ficaríamos lá novamente e Linda foi incrível!!!

We enjoyed our stay at SoaringEagle! The cabin we stayed in was very nice with an amazing view! Brian, Sharon and the gang did a fantastic job keeping us happy! Just finished our stay at Soaring Eagle resort and had one of the best times of our lives! Sharon and Brian (a.k.a. Shrek) along with the rest of the staff at the resort were beyond helpful and took great care of us. Brian was able to find another fishing charter for us after the boat we were supposed to go on had mechanical issues. Couldn’t have asked for a better trip. Just be prepared that there is driving involved to get to the different adventures however taking in the views along the way it makes it all worth it. Just take note of where you plan to go and maybe space them out so you’re not driving to Seward 2 days in a row. You’re only about 35 miles out of Homer too and there are a lot of adventures that start from that area too. Absolutely recommend this resort and if you take a day off without an excursion it was perfect to sit back by the fire pit overlooking Cook Inlet and !Iliamna Volcano while watching Eagles fly past! First off, let's start with the good.1) The view from the cabins was amazing.I didn't expect the view and was very pleased with what we got to see every day.2) The employees we interacted face to face were fantastic.If it wasn't for the employees we dealt with F2F, I would have rated lower.Sharon, Grayson, and many others were great to work with and were very helpful when we needed it.They did a great job.3)The location is an hour from Homer and an hour or so from Soldatna and other key locations to fish and sight see, etc.Now for the bad news.1)We had a very clear itinerary planned.We had a fishing session cancel and our Glacier and Whale cruise cancelled.We understand that weather happens, but it seems odd that the weather expected never occurred.2)The Glacier/Whale combo was critical to our experience.When we had our Glacier/Whale combo cancelled, we tried in vain to get it rescheduled and cancel our river float tour.Chastity was not receptive at all to that request and we got the feeling that we were bothering her and she was annoyed at our request.Another poster also commented on Chastity.They were spot on, except for the fact that Chastity has not been fired.That, clearly, is untrue.Because we impressed upon her and others how important that part of the trip was, I would have expected more effort to be put in to get us what we wanted, even if it meant having to eat some of the cost for the River tour.Unfortunately, it was clear that $ was more important to them than what would have been a long term Alaska visitor, and potential long term customers happiness.We will not be staying there again and utilizing their charter services (Ninilchek Charters) because of how we were treated.3)It's clear the owner has too many hands in the pot and not enough time to ensure his employees have what they need and their equipment is up to par.The boats had things breaking or hanging down and parts of the cabin needed some care (i.e. Toilet, Shower doors, etc).I'd suggest that the owner take some time to understand what his employees need to do their job well and provide his customers with a better and more memorable experience.For anyone reading this, I'd just caution you to make sure you get what you paid for and that if something is important to you, make sure it's clear up front and what they will do if the key part of your trip can't happen.I'd also suggest shopping around as the reviews here for the 4 and 5 stars can be misleading and not thorough. Remember, there is only 20 reviews. I'm not one to complain, unless it's deserved.And it's deserved. Em primeiro lugar, vamos começar com o bom. 1) A vista das cabines foi incrível. Soaring Eagle is a great place to stay the views are beautiful,But I have to say that Chastity the one whom set all this upneeds to find another job because apparently she has no clue about what she’s doing she set all these adventures up for us telling me this was a great time to come to Alaska just be be asked when we arrived to why we picked now to visit, we was like we was told this was a great time to come and she said who told us that we’ll that was Chastity the lady over seeing the place just shook her head in disbelief because the weather was terrible it was cold and all of our adventures was cancelled except for oneso note to who reads this don’t go in may. It would have been an amazing trip if it was planned better well now we know. This was our 10 wedding anniversary trip we have never been to Alaskawe was really disappointed in this tripwe will definitely have to think about going through this company again. On a side note we learned that Chastity has resigned ( probably a good thing) I hope the next planner will be better In planning adventures for you. We just feel so discouraged and disappointed in all of this we was so excited and so let down ,I truly feel that the owner should have reached out to us to explain what was going on but no one has. My family is five days into our 8 day Alaskan adventure. We are staying st Soaring Eagle Lodge (#7).The accommodations are very nice; having many conveniences in the “cabin”, makes it feel homey and relaxing. Sharon has made our excursion arrangements and provided directions for easy planning. I would recommend Soaring Eagle Lodge if you’re wanting a location away from city hustle and bustle. It takes about 45 min to get to Homer (south) and Soldotna (north).My favorite part of the trip was seeing moose. I don’t think I would ever get tired of seeing those magnificent animals. Soaring Eagle is a great place to stay the views are beautiful,But I have to say that Chastity the one whom set all this upneeds to find another job because apparently she has no clue about what she’s doing she set all these adventures up for us telling me this was a great time to come to Alaska just be be asked when we arrived to why we picked now to visit, we was like we was told this was a great time to come and she said who told us that we’ll that was Chastity the lady over seeing the place just shook her head in disbelief because the weather was terrible it was cold and all of our adventures was cancelled except for oneso note to who reads this don’t go in may. It would have been an amazing trip if it was planned better well now we know. This was our 10 wedding anniversary trip we have never been to Alaskawe was really disappointed in this tripwe will definitely have to think about going through this company again. On a side note we learned that Chastity has resigned ( probably a good thing) I hope the next planner will be better In planning adventures for you. We just feel so discouraged and disappointed in all of this we was so excited and so let down ,I truly feel that the owner should have reached out to us to explain what was going on but no one has. My family is five days into our 8 day Alaskan adventure. We are staying st Soaring Eagle Lodge (#7).The accommodations are very nice; having many conveniences in the “cabin”, makes it feel homey and relaxing. Sharon has made our excursion arrangements and provided directions for easy planning. I would recommend Soaring Eagle Lodge if you’re wanting a location away from city hustle and bustle. It takes about 45 min to get to Homer (south) and Soldotna (north).My favorite part of the trip was seeing moose. I don’t think I would ever get tired of seeing those magnificent animals. We enjoyed our stay at SoaringEagle! The cabin we stayed in was very nice with an amazing view! Brian, Sharon and the gang did a fantastic job keeping us happy!
Just finished our stay at Soaring Eagle resort and had one of the best times of our lives! Sharon and Brian (a.k.a. Shrek) along with the rest of the staff at the resort were beyond helpful and took great care of us. Brian was able to find another fishing charter for us after the boat we were supposed to go on had mechanical issues. Couldn’t have asked for a better trip. Just be prepared that there is driving involved to get to the different adventures however taking in the views along the way it makes it all worth it. Just take note of where you plan to go and maybe space them out so you’re not driving to Seward 2 days in a row. You’re only about 35 miles out of Homer too and there are a lot of adventures that start from that area too. Absolutely recommend this resort and if you take a day off without an excursion it was perfect to sit back by the fire pit overlooking Cook Inlet and !Iliamna Volcano while watching Eagles fly past!
First off, let's start with the good.1) The view from the cabins was amazing.I didn't expect the view and was very pleased with what we got to see every day.2) The employees we interacted face to face were fantastic.If it wasn't for the employees we dealt with F2F, I would have rated lower.Sharon, Grayson, and many others were great to work with and were very helpful when we needed it.They did a great job.3)The location is an hour from Homer and an hour or so from Soldatna and other key locations to fish and sight see, etc.Now for the bad news.1)We had a very clear itinerary planned.We had a fishing session cancel and our Glacier and Whale cruise cancelled.We understand that weather happens, but it seems odd that the weather expected never occurred.2)The Glacier/Whale combo was critical to our experience.When we had our Glacier/Whale combo cancelled, we tried in vain to get it rescheduled and cancel our river float tour.Chastity was not receptive at all to that request and we got the feeling that we were bothering her and she was annoyed at our request.Another poster also commented on Chastity.They were spot on, except for the fact that Chastity has not been fired.That, clearly, is untrue.Because we impressed upon her and others how important that part of the trip was, I would have expected more effort to be put in to get us what we wanted, even if it meant having to eat some of the cost for the River tour.Unfortunately, it was clear that $ was more important to them than what would have been a long term Alaska visitor, and potential long term customers happiness.We will not be staying there again and utilizing their charter services (Ninilchek Charters) because of how we were treated.3)It's clear the owner has too many hands in the pot and not enough time to ensure his employees have what they need and their equipment is up to par.The boats had things breaking or hanging down and parts of the cabin needed some care (i.e. Toilet, Shower doors, etc).I'd suggest that the owner take some time to understand what his employees need to do their job well and provide his customers with a better and more memorable experience.For anyone reading this, I'd just caution you to make sure you get what you paid for and that if something is important to you, make sure it's clear up front and what they will do if the key part of your trip can't happen.I'd also suggest shopping around as the reviews here for the 4 and 5 stars can be misleading and not thorough. Remember, there is only 20 reviews. I'm not one to complain, unless it's deserved.And it's deserved.
